USA 250th Colonial Dinner Celebration at the Hetfield House

USA 250TH CELEBRATION COLONIAL DINNER

     In celebration of the USA’s Semiquincentennial this year, the Mountainside Restoration Committee will hold a Colonial Dinner in the circa 1760 Deacon Andrew Hetfield House. Scheduled for 6:00-8:30 pm on Saturday, February 21, 2026 and held at Mountainside’s historic Hetfield House, this enjoyable event is a fund raiser for the Mountainside Restoration Committee. A portion of the proceeds go toward the restoration and maintenance of the historic Hetfield and Levi Cory houses.

     A complete meal is included beginning with a Wassail reception featuring period music. Choice of Chicken or Beef entree, Wine and Ale with dinner and a Mead tasting w/dessert. Seating is very limited, so reserve early, 21 or over only.

     The event will feature special Colonial inspired foods with a Wassail punch, wine & beer.  Decorated with Colonial décor and served by costumed servers, the event will feature trivia games and period appropriate music. Space is limited, so reserve early. Guests are encouraged to dress in period costume or dress for dinner. The cost is $65 per person.

     The evening will begin with a reception held in the Hetfield House’s formal parlor where guests will enjoy a Wassail reception featuring music, appetizers and beverages. After the reception, guests will proceed to the center rooms for dinner. dessert and Colonial activities. Throughout the evening, costumed servers will assist guests amidst era-appropriate decorations accompanied by colonial music.

     Space for this Colonial dinner is limited and any interested adults should call for reservations immediately. The cost is $65 per person. Full payments are due by Feb. 15th.

    The Deacon Andrew Hetfield House and Levi Cory House are located at Constitution Plaza adjacent to the Mountainside Library. Constitution Plaza is the first right off Birch Hill Road which is off New Providence Road near the Mountainside Volunteer Fire House. The Mountainside Restoration Committee is a committee of volunteers whose purpose is to restore and maintain the Deacon Andrew Hetfield House and the Levi Cory House and collect and save historical information and items from destruction.
